SMP-001 transducer specialized for identification and measurement of overvoltages in a HV substation.
Our SMP-001 specialized transducer, together with a set of measurement sondes, designed for bushing monitoring is a very interesting device. Implementation of this transducer was a source of unforgettable experiences during testing it in Zakład Remontowy Energetyki in Czerwonak where we successfully recorded discharges and short-circuits on an 110kV line.
The transducer records connection and storm overvoltages both on the primal and secondary side of the transformer. Dynamic changes of bushings capacities and long-term changes are detected, which prove rapid or slow dielectric layer degradation. The measurements are transmitted to the SYNDIS ES system, our expert software, which determines the change of bushing loss factor. On the base of changes trends appropriate communicates and messages are generated.
We think that system statistics of recorded atmospheric overvoltages, together with their values, may provide important information concerning storm protection in a substation.
During transducer exploitation it turned out that voltage disturbances connected with damage in power system are properly recorded. Such records may be useful in additional verification of operation of disturbance recorders and some protections.
