Connection equipment

This is a group of goods necessary for the assembly of devices or their additional protection. We have also described here the type of buses that are used in devices manufactured by MIKRONIKA. The strips are designed for analog and communication channels. There are also variants where some of the channels are intended for the communication part and the other for the analog one.   []

LWA/LWK-002 (analog/communication input block)

The LWA-002 / LWK-002 analog/communication input strip is designed to introduce two-wire connections of analog or communication signals from the object to the object controller, while protecting the controller inputs against electrostatic discharges, surge disturbances and fast electrical transients. The strip is adapted to be used in industrial automation, measurement and control installations.

It comes in 3 configurations:

  • LWA-002 – analog input strip - all channels intended to protect analog inputs of the controller
  • LWK-002 – communication input strip - all channels designed to protect the communication inputs of the controller
  • LWAK-002 – analog/communication input strip – some of the channels are designed to protect the analog inputs and some to protect the communication inputs of the controller   []

LWB-002 (binary inputs terminal block)

The LWB-002 binary input strip is designed to introduce binary signal connections from the object to the object or communication controller, while protecting the controller inputs against electrostatic discharges, surge disturbances and fast electrical transients. The strip is adapted to be used in industrial automation, measurement and control installations.   []

LWS-002 (control outputs terminal block)

The LWS-002 control output terminal block is designed to output mutually galvanically separated, contact, two-wire control signals from the object controller to object devices. The strip is adapted to be used in industrial automation, measurement and control installations.   []

OGP-xxx (limiter)

The OGP-001 two-stage surge arrester is designed to eliminate and limit the effects of strong interference in electrical installations. The electrical parameters of the arrester allow to increase the resistance to surge disturbances of the protected devices up to level 4 (according to the PN-EN 61000-4-5 standard). The basic version is based on the varistor technique. However, it is possible to change the parameters of the limiter by connecting two different or similar sections, consisting of spark gaps, varistors or protective diodes. The OGP-001 can be used in single- and three-phase systems (3x OGP-001). The housing used allows mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail.   []

Bases

The bus used is assigned to a specific family of devices. As a result, devices/modules are prepared to work in specific configurations. Some of them are equipped with several buses, which makes them more universal. The use of a given bus forces the device/module to be mounted in specific types of enclosures.

MIKRONIKA devices use the following buses:

  • LVDS – the LVDS system bus is mainly intended for use in SO-52v1x controller cassettes. It supplies the supply voltage to the packages connected to it and ensures communication between them. There are two types of LVDS bus: X and Y, which differ in the location of the connector. LVDS-X has a bus connector on top of the module and Y on the bottom.
  • MPCI - PCI express bus designed to support communication modules; the version of the Mikronika controller equipped with this bus is referred to as MPCI
  • MS is the so-called "wide highway". The MS system bus is designed for use in 6U racks. It supplies power to the packets connected to it and ensures communication between them.
  • mSB – SWIFT type "m" bus, used in devices of the SO-52v21 family
  • MAN–MAG is designed to connect four MAN-00x modules with a PCR-003 processor module in a 1U 19” housing. In addition, there is a WZI 001 power supply in the housing, which supplies all modules with +3.3V and +5V voltages via the bus. The bus board contains four SN65LVDM176 transceiver chips. The bus paths for each of the SN65LVDM176 devices are separated by a ground path to reduce the influence of mutual interference. The board has a connector that allows you to extend the bus for a 2U 19” housing, which can accommodate 8 MAN-00x boards
  • SY/ST - the SY/ST bus is intended mainly for use in 3U racks. It connects object modules - e.g. input packets (e.g. WEJ-061) and output packets (e.g. WYJ-074)   []
