Introduction

These devices are designed to control the operation and implement controls for radio and television transmitters in RTV relay stations within the scope of remote monitoring systems for these stations implemented by Mikronika. The open communication protocol in which the devices of this group are equipped enables easy use of these devices in the systems of other manufacturers.

Devices from the group of RTV controllers monitor the operating parameters of broadcasting systems, such as emission power, level of synchronization and luminance of video signals, modulation level, presence and quality of RDS signal, presence of a stereo encoder pilot signal. The control of parameters of modulating video and audio signals includes signals at the input of the transmitter, as well as at the output of the transmitter after demodulation in the control RTV tuners.

Depending on the configuration and set limit parameters, these devices can perform the following functions:

  • measurements of parameters of radio and television signals, such as audio levels in stereo channels, the level of synchronization and image luminance in a selected line, the correctness of RDS signals
  • generating and sending alarms to the supervisory system about exceeding the set parameters
  • control of the presence and quality of video and audio signals

In accordance with the implemented operating algorithms of the entire system, these devices also perform control functions:

  • switching of signals modulating RTV transmitters from primary sources to reserve sources in automatic mode, according to predefined criteria
  • switching of signal sources locally in manual mode or remotely, on command received from the supervisory system

The above devices, as part of the RTV broadcasting station supervision system, cooperate with the SO-52RTVxx controller. It is built of specialized RTV modules and typical packages of SO-52xx system object drivers, widely used and tested in difficult conditions of industrial power engineering.   []

KMN-101 (transmitted power controller)

Not recommended for apply in new solutions

The KMN-101 Transmit Power Controller is a universal eight-channel high-frequency peak detector, designed to measure and control the power of radio and television transmitters in earth stations. The controller also enables determination of the reflected wave coefficient and the standing wave coefficient WFS.

The KMN-101 device consists of the following functional blocks:

  • eight MRF peak detectors of the high-frequency signal
  • control and measurement module, based on a microprocessor with an A/C converter system
  • operator terminal
  • 230V AC power supply block
Exemplary KMN-101

The operator terminal consists of an LCD display and a 4-button keyboard. Using the local terminal, you can check the measurements, reconfigure the device and view the transmission status. The same can be done by using remote support. Configuration software or third-party software supporting the device must be installed on the remote computer.   []

KMR-2xx (radio modulation controller)

Not recommended for apply in new solutions

The KMR-2xx controller is designed to detect the loss of audio signals fed to the input of the radio transmitter and to generate an alarm to the supervisory system. The controller has two independent dual-track control channels. The device is used in radio station supervision systems.

The KMR-2xx module has two transmission links using the MODBUS protocol:

  • T1 in the RS-485 and RS-232 standard, intended for commissioning and testing the controller and for manual control using the control and monitoring terminal (additional equipment)
  • T2 in the RS-485 standard, intended for remote transmission and communication with the master system (SYNDIS RV)

The controller is manufactured in a 1U/19” housing with the possibility of mounting in a 19” standard cabinet.   []

KTR-101 (radio control tuner)

Not recommended for apply in new solutions

The KTR-101 Radio Tuner Module is a high-class control receiver designed to receive and control programs broadcast by radio transmitters and distributed in cable networks in the CCIR band with FM modulation. The parameters are controlled by audio signals after demodulation, STEREO pilot signal, RDS signal and high frequency output signal level. from the transmitter. The KTR-101 module can also function as a retransmission receiver.

KTR-101 consists of the following modules:

  • HF head with FM demodulator and RDS signal demodulator
  • STEREO decoder with low frequency amplifier system filters and detectors of demodulated signals
  • control system and control of the tuner operation based on a microcontroller with an analog-to-digital converter
  • LCD panel with control buttons
  • diagnostics with a system of separated alarm inputs and signaling
  • RF peak power detector

PMR-10x (radio control tuner)

Not recommended for apply in new solutions

The PMR-10x modulation switch is used to switch between stereo audio signals fed to the input of the radio transmitter from the primary and backup sources. The task of the switch is to determine which of the signals - reserve or primary - is correct and switch to the appropriate one.

Switching can be done:

  • in automatic mode, according to programmed criteria
  • in manual mode, using the buttons located on the front of the device
  • in remote or local mode, using the commands of the supervisory program
